A Little Appreciation Goes a Long Way

Peer to Peer Social Stream

The new Peer to Peer Recognition platform in Worley Rewards is gaining traction. Designed as a way for any Worley employee to say thank you to any other Worley employee for a job well-done, members of Team Worley are coming to discover its value to team morale.

“Everybody loves a little pat on the back, and they like to be publicly recognized for something positive,” said Mikel Miller, an adjuster in the Winter Haven, FL auto zone who recently used Peer to Peer to recognize two of his co-workers.

By clicking the “Recognize Someone” button on the Worley Rewards landing page, any Worley employee can express appreciation for the job a co-worker is doing. There is also a social media feed (see above) on the right side of the page that allows other employees to “like” the nomination (the medal on the left side of the feed) or add a comment supporting the nomination by clicking on the bubble on the right side.

Ryan Roberts, a site manager in Columbia, MO, has used the platform every month since it was rolled out in January. “It’s a good way for me to be able to recognize people who have been working hard for us and put it up for everyone to see. That’s what I like about it.”

“Sometimes the verbal pat on the back isn’t enough,” said Bernadette Bienvenu of Worley’s IT Dept.. She recently used Peer to Peer to recognize two of her co-workers and let them know that the job they are doing matters to her. “Public recognition is a good way to show co-workers how much you appreciate them when they go out of their way to support you.”

Bienvenu likes that Peer to Peer is yet one more way for Worley to show appreciation of its employees. “I love the Challenge Coin, Peer to Peer Recognition and the whole Worley Rewards program,” she said. “It’s also a good way to let management know what a good job someone is doing.”

Roberts believes that Peer to Peer Recognition is beginning to make a difference to his team in Missouri. “I’ve got some really good feedback from people. It’s nice to see that they’re recognized for working hard, and it’s a motivating thing.”

As a CAT Manager, David Chu was surprised to receive a recognition from one of the adjusters he supervises in the Winter Haven auto zone. “It was a pleasant surprise. I definitely wasn’t expecting it,” he said, adding that he would like to see Peer to Peer utilized more. “I think it’s a positive,” he said, but “the biggest thing is for folks who are not familiar with the program.” With adjusters coming and going from sites all the time, it’s important to keep advertising it and letting our people know it’s there, Chu said.

A Peer-to-Peer recognition program offers an exciting new member benefit in 2015 (see the adjacent post). There are also changes to the award of Qualifying Points for State Licenses and some certifications. Starting January 1, those points will only be awarded on the day they are submitted new and on each renewal date following in the year they are posted. Previously they were awarded annually on the first day of the program, with new ones added throughout the year.
